Where does a successful business come from?

The inspiration for a successful business can arrive a lot of ways. Like a thunderbolt all of a sudden. After years of hard work. Somewhere in the middle.

For Total Life Changes, inspiration came to me after I realized that I wanted to start a company that could help people, and that the Health and Wellness sector is one of the fastest-growing markets in the world. Bringing those two interests together resulted in TLC.

We’ve done pretty well, I think.

I thought I’d share a few thoughts about where you might ideas for your business. Of course, I encourage you to consider partnering with us at Total Life Changes! Our Life Changers are a vital part in making TLC the company that it is. We’d welcome you with open arms, and a system designed to give you the best chance at success.

But, if you’re looking for something else, too, here are some suggestions.

Suggestion One: Watch for industry trends

Similar to the way I knew that Health and Wellness was a promising sector, if you’re actively looking for business ideas, you need to be actively looking at business news.

What’s hot? What’s not? Where does there seem to be growth?

There’s an old adage in business: you don’t usually want to be first to a market, because they’ve taken all the risk. But you sure do want to be second!

Suggestion Two: Listen to clients and customers

Your current business partners may be quietly telling you where you’ll find the next opportunity.

What are their main complaints? What do they wish you could provide? What do they tell you is missing?

These are spaces that are ripe for new business opportunities.

Suggestion Three: Look toward your competitors

At this stage, it’s good to look at the companies that might someday be your competitors. Shop them. Be a customer of theirs.

Where can you build on the experience? What can you offer that they’ve chosen not to?

Again, these are the spaces where a new idea can grow into a successful business.

Wherever you look for inspiration, make sure to do your homework. Every venture is a risk, and I wouldn’t want you to take on too much. But every journey begins somewhere, and maybe today is the day you take the first step.

Good luck!

Jack
