World Book Day is April 23. World Book Day is an annual event organized by UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization. According to the event website, by celebrating World Book Day, “we can open ourselves to others despite distance, and we can travel thanks to imagination.” Given the year we’ve all just experienced, doing a little traveling sounds like a nice way to spend some time.
The Power of Books
I love to read. Most of the time, I’m eyeballs-deep in a pile of self-help books because I believe in the importance of personal development. Books like that were at the very beginning of Total Life Changes, especially Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. When I was early in my entrepreneurial life, my mentors Mike and Tony pushed me to read books that would encourage me to have the right mindset. Think and Grow Rich is what I call “the granddaddy of self-help books,” and it started me on a path that led to TLC, and so much more.
Reading is powerful because it’s like experts are coming to you. We don’t always have the money to pay for a class, and we don’t always have a schedule that lets us enroll in school, but books are a university that’s always there, waiting for us, and at a price, most of us can afford!
Not too long ago, I shared a short list of five great books written by entrepreneurs that I thought my audience might enjoy and find useful. World Book Day is a great reason to pick one up. Pass it on to a friend when you finish! There’s another book I’d like to recommend, too: mine!

Did you know that I wrote a book about my life before Total Life Changes and how the company has grown to be (in my humble opinion) the best health and wellness company in the world? I’m really proud of Believe in More! and the response that it’s gotten from the people who have read it.
Part of what makes the book so important to me is that I was able to share stories about my granny. She helped make me who I am today, and it’s not an exaggeration to say that without Granny, there would be no TLC.
