T echnology is an amazing thing. It lets us connect across time and distance in a powerful way. One of my favorite ways to gain insight into what other people think and say is listening to inspirational podcasts. But there are so many!

I’ve decided to share with you five inspirational podcasts that I think are worth your time. As I wrote in a previous blog, new ideas are important to cultivating the garden of your business. I think these inspirational podcasts will help you sow the seeds of those vital new ideas.

Let me say this, though: we shouldn’t always agree with everything we hear. We grow through exposure to new ideas and perspectives. Don’t listen thinking you’ll hear confirmation of everything you think you know. Be willing to be challenged. Be willing to be moved.

#5 DNA of a Maker

Television personality Lilliana Vazquez uses her winning personality to explore the stories of inspirational women in her DNA of A Maker podcast. In these 30-minute episodes, Lilliana discusses strengths and weaknesses with women I am sure you’ll walk away admiring.

You’ll feel like you’re eavesdropping on a private conversation between two friends, and that’s a good thing!

#4 Optimal Living Daily

If you’re looking for variety, then maybe the Optimal Living Daily podcast is something for you. They compile the best personal development articles and blogs and turn them into something you can listen to on the go. I always find too many things that I want to read, and I never have enough time to get to them. With this podcast, some of that reading can be done on the go.

#3 TED Talks Daily

You can find inspiration anywhere, and the world-famous TED Talks bring together smart people doing wonderful things across a broad spectrum of interests.

In TED Talks, you’ll hear from scientists, artists, business people, and many others, brought together by award-winning host Elise Hu.

#2 Fresh Air

In this venerable radio show from National Public Radio, host Terry Gross offers in-depth interviews with an eclectic group of subjects that includes artists, newsmakers, writers, and politicians.

While Fresh Air doesn’t deliberately set to inspire you like some of these other podcasts, the broadcast is always enlightening, usually entertaining, and a great way to stay informed.

#1 WHOA That’s Good

Sadie Robertson, from television’s Duck Dynasty and Dancing with the Stars, welcomes guests of all sorts to discuss faith, love, life, and whatever’s on everyone’s mind. Sadie has an infectious enthusiasm for God and living in a way that honors faith and healing.

Sadie offers advice of her own, but especially welcomes input from her guests. This podcast targets young adults more than us gray-beards, but I always find something inspirational whenever I listen.
